Meet the Seller

Mini Bio:

Selling since: July 2025

Location: London, UK

Earthy Crunch UK has been selling since July 2025, based in London, UK. Curating the finest edible clays and textures for the community, ECUK brings together a one-stop shop for clay lovers.

What inspired you to start selling edible clays or clay treats?
I’ve been a clay buyer myself for many years, and honestly, I was getting tired of the cost. Amazon and Etsy sellers were charging £15.99 for 100g, portions were tiny, and buying in bulk meant it often went hard and stale. I thought, “Why not share what I have with the community?” One idea snowballed into Earthy Crunch UK.

Which products do you specialise in selling, and what do you think sets your selection apart?
We’re a one-stop shop for clays. I’ve curated the community’s favourite vendors all in one place—basically building the store I always wished existed when I was hunting for my next crunch fix.

Who or what inspires your choices when selecting clays and textures to offer?
Honestly? Myself. I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t eat myself. I tend to stock what I love, and I also check in with the community to see what they want. At the end of the day, it’s for them!

Can you tell us about the first time you realised you wanted to sell clay or felt a craving to explore this niche?
Spring 2025 was the turning point. The cost-of-living crisis had everyone feeling the pinch. Clay is a little luxury, I get that, but the cravings can be intense, and I realised I could make it more accessible for others like me.

Which of the products you sell is your personal favourite, and why?
I started with clay pots only. Being iron-deficient, there’s something about that iron-rich mineral flavour that really hits the sweet spot; Mexican clays especially. Over the years I’ve grown to love greys and blacks, too. I’m not a fan of salty or tangy flavours.

If you could describe your ideal crunch in three words, what would they be?
Metallic, smooth, fractured

Which textures do you love stocking—and which do you enjoy most when sampling?
I’m all about that crackly crispness, the kind that shatters just right under your teeth.

Which flavours or earthy notes do your customers, or you yourself, always seem to crave?
Red Nakumatt is a favourite for both me and the community. It brings together iron-rich metallic notes with a subtle cementy grey undertone. It’s just chef’s kiss.

Can you share a funny or memorable moment from sourcing or selling your clay products?
One of the funniest things about sourcing clay globally has to be the language barrier. I studied Spanish from ages 12–16 and again at university, and I’d say it’s actually pretty decent, though European Spanish can differ quite a bit from Latin American Spanish. I was once trying to negotiate some clays with a seller in Mexico, and I’m fairly sure there was a hilarious translation mix-up because he kept accidentally calling me something completely unexpected (a lesbian?)!

If you could introduce a completely new clay flavour or texture to your range, what would it be?
I’d love something that tastes like a forest, the earthy, soily pine smell you get after rain in the woodland. Honestly, it’s heaven.
