Details

Roll Pots are a set of natural terracotta cylindrical clay pots made from 100% Indian red earth. Traditionally crafted for storage and decorative use, these smooth, rounded pots also offer a sensory delight for clay lovers. Their deep red-brown tones, rich earthy scent, and satisfying dusty bite make them a distinctive addition to any collection or clay-tasting experience.

While not conventionally consumed, many in the geophagy community enjoy their soft, powdery chew and classic muddy claypot flavour. When soaked in water, the taste deepens — enhancing the grounded red-earth tones and evoking the nostalgic aroma of Indian soil after rain.

Traditional Clay Origins:
Terracotta holds a special place in India’s clay-eating traditions, especially in regions where red earth is abundant and rich in iron. For generations, small pots and vessels like these have been handcrafted from mineral-rich soil, sun-dried, and fired to preserve their deep, grounding flavour. In many rural areas, similar clays — often referred to as mitti or laal mitti — have been appreciated for their taste, aroma, and cultural symbolism. Roll Pots celebrate this enduring connection to Indian earth, uniting traditional craftsmanship with the sensory satisfaction clay enthusiasts love.

Uses:

  • Sensory play and mindful texture enjoyment

  • Collecting and aesthetic display

  • Controlled clay tasting for pica and geophagy cravings

  • Relaxation or grounding through texture and scent

  • Soaking and softening for deeper red-earth flavour exploration

Storage Tips

To keep your clays and treats fresh, crunchy, and full of flavour, always store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from moisture, humidity, and strong odours. Exposure to air or dampness can alter both texture and taste.

We highly recommend using our stash boxes, available on the website — designed specifically to protect and organise your clay collection with ease.

Handling Guidelines

  • clean, dry hands

Fragility Disclaimer

All clay treats and terracotta pot products are handmade and naturally fragile, making them susceptible to breakage during delivery.

While we take great care in packing each item securely, minor cracks, chips, or crumbled pieces may occur. This is a natural part of working with handcrafted clays and does not affect taste or enjoyment.
